Zoom crashes Firefox, USB webcam connection erratic

I have a need to use Zoom for a meeting (NOT BY MY CHOICE).
I have had several problems getting it to work.
The meeting was yesterday, and the other party did not show up, so meeting has been rescheduled.
I want to fix this Zoom meeting problem before I have to try this again.

I bought the usual Microcenter Web-camera (IC-800), and plugged it into USB.
It does not require any software, nor does it include any.
This is Slackware 15.0, kernel 5.15.19.
I will be updating kernels once I get some of these other more immediate problems into a less than more immediate status.
I have both a custom kernel, and a huge kernel to play with. I have not noticed a difference.

1. I can activate it using kamoso. I can see myself.

2. The webcam does not seem to work if I plug it in to the USB after the system has booted.
I just tried this with the custom kernel, and kamoso does not see the webcam.
The /dev/video devices are missing.

3. The webcam did NOT activate for the meeting (using Firefox).
The webcam microphone was available.
The video camera had a yellow triangle next to it.
I had plugged in the webcam to the USB before booting the system, so it was not that.

Other parties took so long to show up, that I had time to reboot the entire system.
I looked at the webcam using kamoso, and it worked.
This time when I tried to join the Zoom meeting, the camera video worked.
Can I suspect that kamoso is setting up the webcam in some way that Firefox is not doing properly?

4. The firefox session repeatedly crashed, and I had to rejoin the meeting.
I had sat there and waited without problems. But once the other person tried to talk, I repeatedly
had session crashes, with about 10 to 15 seconds between crashes.

5. There is conflict between kamoso and Firefox. When one has the webcam, the other cannot use it.
I once left kamoso running and Zoom test site using Firefox would not work.
After I turned off kamoso, then Firefox could access the webcam.

6. Firefox has these permissions for using the mic and video. Even after I set them up, it requires that I set them up again. The default for the mic is the sound card mic, and it is very easy to get the wrong mic. I would like to get these selections and setups to stay set at least long enough to get through the meeting.

Question: I had installed the Zoom addon to Firefox.
It does not seem to do anything.
I ended up ignoring it for the meeting.
Is the Zoom addon to Firefox useful for anything in Linux?

Question: There is a zoom app that is offered.
It is 64 bit only (and I run a 32 bit system) so I could not use it.
Does this app offer anything that is actually useful in a meeting, or is it just another calender app with the Zoom ownership all over it?
