Unknown Partial Partition Mount
by andwan0 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6DSFW)
I have a weird mount which contains a partial of my HDD. This HDD isn't divided into partitions.. but just have 1 partition taking up the whole HDD.
Please take a look at my attached screenshot.
It appears Debian tried to mount first time (HDD serial ending in ....1a0). Then it created a 2nd successful full mount (HDD serial ending in .... 1a01).
Comparing the length of the HDD serial with my other HDD.. it appears Debian appended a '1' to avoid duplicated mount names.
When I open and navigate the first mount (ending in 1a0) then it has some of my folders/files.
NB: Ofcourse, in Thunar (file manager) & my Desktop it doesn't have an auto-mount folder for the 'partial' HDD. But it is confusing that the partial mount exists in the /media/ folder, especially when am trying to set "save location" paths, etc.
Can someone tell me what is going on and how did this happen?
