Need help installing d-link 1300 nano usb [WiFi] adapter
by JinxsDad from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6DTSH)
As the subject line says, I need help installing this thing. A severe thunderstorm took out both Cat6 and wifi a week or two ago.
I bought the Linux compatible D-Link AC 1300 MU-MIMO Nano USB [wifi] adapter.
Unfortunately, with the damage done to my brain during my first cancer/second metastasis (3 brain tumors, many grand mal seizures, 3 VERY SEVERE brain surgeries, followed by whole-brain/max-dose radiation therapy, not to mention chemobrain) I am having a great deal of difficulty understanding the instructions (including which ones to use).
Per the D-Link site, I downloaded the following driver file:
DWA-181_REVA_DRIVERS_v5.8.7.1_LINUX.zip
Again, thanks to cancer #1, I need some serious help with installing these and then getting wifi working again. I'm having to use my tablet, "typing" one finger at a time until my laptop (I can type in the full specs if needed---but it's Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming ... and thus gamedev) running Slackware 15.
Thanks
