Asus AMD/Nvidia laptop 2gpus, 2screens many problems
by osbiefeelgood from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6DWCH)
Hey all, been so long that i had to start a new account.
Well here i am with a new laptop, new problems. Problems are:
AMD int. Gpu works fine on the laptop screen and it also has a Nvidia 3060 which I was hoping to use only on an external screen or at a programs request. When i plug in an external via usbc-dp-1, or the HDMI, the Nvidia kicks in. Great right!? The screen works But nothing else does. Try to open Dolphin - it crashes, Desktop settings - crash. No app will open. But it all goes fine as soon as i unplug the external.
It did work for a while and i don't know what changed. by a while i mean a day or two, this is a fresh install.
Details:
Asus Studiobook 16 AMD
Nvidia 3060
2.5k screen, 4k external
Opensuse Tumbleweed
I was initially trying to find a softswitch to change/turn on the diff gpu and also get DaVinci Resolve to start via Nvidia.
