Report: Eagles' Jack retires after 7 seasons

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Myles Jack has informed the team he plans to retire after playing seven seasons, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Jack signed a one-year deal with Philadelphia in early August after being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers in March. The 27-year-old signed a two-year, $16-million deal with Pittsburgh in 2022.

Philadelphia now has Nakobe Dean, Zach Cunningham, Christian Elliss, Nicholas Morrow, Ben VanSumeren, and Tyreek Maddox-Williams left on its linebacker depth chart.

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded up in the second round to select Jack with the 36th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Jack was touted as a potential top-10 selection but slipped in the draft due to a knee injury.

Jack spent six seasons with the Jaguars and was a key player on the team's 2017 AFC Championship squad. Jacksonville signed Jack to a four-year, $57-million contract extension in 2019 before releasing him three years later.

The UCLA product finishes his career with 617 tackles in 103 career games.
