Fastest File Transfer

I want to transfer several 100 GB of files from one computer to another. both are USB2. My options are take drive from one computer, put it in a USB enclosure and connect to the other computer, use Ethernet cable to connect them (I have an orange crossover? cable) or wireless connection thru my LAN. I don't like doing a lot thru the LAN as it's going thru my Linksys 54G router that balks at too much load.
