Canon Selphy CP510 and Debian Bookworm

I just switched from Ubuntu to Debian last week and I'm already running into trouble.

I am trying to use a Canon Selphy CP510 photo printer connected to my computer via USB. I found Gutenprint and tried to build it from source, following the instructions I found here. I got the following error:

Quote:
You do not have the necessary software installed to build the CUPS driver.
This is most likely not what you want, as the resulting installation will
not be usable as part of a normal printing system. If you are certain
that this is what you want, please run configure with --without-cups.
Otherwise, please read the README and install the necessary development
package, most likely named 'cups-devel', and re-run configure.
I only really need it to print photos from GIMP, so I tried it again with --without-cups and it told me it wasn't going to build the enhanced driver for GIMP, so that seemed like a dead end.

I then tried apt-get install gimp-gutenprint and at the end it gave me

Quote:
raspi-firmware: missing /boot/firmware, did you forget to mount it?
run-parts: /etc/initramfs/post-update.d//z50-raspi-firmware exited with return code 1
dpkg: error processing package initramfs-tools (--configure):
installed initramfs-tools package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
linux-image-6.1.0-11-amd64
linux-image-amd64
initramfs-tools
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Despite that, I now have the option to Print with Gutenprint in the File menu in GIMP. Selecting that let me choose my printer and it automatically knew that it's meant to print 4"x6", but when I clicked Print, it gave me the error

Quote:
lp: Error - No default destination.
The Gutenprint window was also taller than my monitor, so I had to set the screen to portrait in order to actually click on Print.

I'd appreciate any help you can give me!
