Drawbacks: Renaming Kernel During Compilation
by skysoft501 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6EJ5V)
Is it advisable to rename the Linux kernel during compilation?
I don't mean renaming by menuconfig > general > local (which just appends a suffix).
Im talking about EXTRAVERSION var in the main Makefile. It sure works, but could they be any drawbacks in the future for a general purpose machine?
