Recovering lost partitions
by zaxonus from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6F15N)
As I was, on my Debian Linux machine, trying to install SmartOS (Based on Solaris) on a USB stick.
By some mistake I messed up my Hard disk Linux partition table.
I had about 5 or 6 linux type partitions (ext2-3-4), but now only 2 partitions are left: a zfs using virtually the whole disk and another one of type unknown (just 8MB).
Is there a way I can recover my original partitions or at least my data.
Though I am not very optimistic, I thought there was nothing to loose by asking.
And someone may have an idea.
