Jets' Saleh: Hall won't be on pitch count anymore

New York Jets running back Breece Hall is expected to return to a full workload.

"From an opportunity standpoint, there is no pitch count with him anymore," head coach Robert Saleh said Wednesday, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra.

Hall started the first four contests of the 2023 season but has yet to play more than 31 snaps in a game. The 22-year-old was put on a pitch count due to an ACL tear suffered during the 2022 campaign.

Despite his limitations, Hall leads the Jets in all rushing categories. He's averaged 6.6 yards per carry with 210 yards on 32 attempts.

Veteran Dalvin Cook has received most of the workload when Hall is off the field. Cook, signed this offseason, has struggled to get going, though, rushing for just 2.5 yards per attempt. Saleh cautioned against giving up on the veteran.

"Remember, he didn't have OTAs, he didn't have training camp. ... He's getting faster, his GPS numbers are showing to get a lot faster," Saleh said. "It looks like he's getting his legs underneath himself."

The Jets have lost three in a row since winning their Week 1 opener against the Buffalo Bills. They travel to Denver to take on the Broncos this Sunday.
