Japanese input on Debian.

I have recently installed Debian 12 on a laptop (VGN-Z92JS).

I am now trying to set it up so that I can also use Japanese input.

I have already installed these packages: ibus, ibus-mozc.

All went fine, but I still can't see how I can input Japanese.

I may have some more to do but I am not quite sure what.

Some guidance by people with some experience would be welcome.

The file /etc/default/locale contains:

LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
LANGUAGE="en_US:en"

And I may need to update it; but of course I still want to be able to use (usual input in) English on my computer.
