green/ red boxes on screen using second screen

i have got a second screen set up but it has this green box at the top rhs
saying its the hdmi screen... similarly the laptop screen has a red box..

how do i get rid of these pls...have looked in display settings and theres no option
.. ??

in the meaantime ill do a search on the site..
