LILO boot stuck at DHCP
by JinxsDad from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6FEX2)
I can't get Slackware 15 to boot because LILO is stuck at DHCP:
DHCPCHECK of 192.168.0.14 from 192.168?0.1
bound to 192.168.0.14 -- renewal in 1485 seconds
And it's stopped there. I tried unplugging the cat6 cable and rebooting ... it got stuck waiting for a network. Plugged cat6 back in, it saw the network, but still wouldn't boot.
I had hard coded ip addresses in my router, thought maybe Slackware didn't like that, so I logged on to the router from Mint and removed the entry for my Slackware system. No help, no change. Edit: I hard coded the IP addresses to what each system was already using.
I was going to use the installation dvd to boot into a live session, but even the tiny pin that forces a boot into bios (to put the DVD drive back on top of the boot process), and it still went straight to LILO with one option: Linux.
How can I resolve this?
Thanks
