Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones remains confident that quarterback Dak Prescott is the solution rather than the problem after Sunday's 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

"I believe Dak is a quarterback that can get us to the Super Bowl, and that's the way that's going to be," Jones said during a radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas on Tuesday, per ESPN's Todd Archer.

"I'm not panicked. But the gap is - when something tells you what it is, don't try to dream that it's something else. Now, what I'm trying to say is we can do better than what we did out there Sunday night. That's a given."

Prescott was outclassed by his Week 5 counterpart Brock Purdy. The 49ers' signal-caller passed for 252 yards and four touchdowns, while Prescott tallied 153 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.

Prescott said it was "the most humbling game I've ever been a part of."

The Cowboys surrendered season-high totals in points and yards (421), and the prime-time game marked the franchise's largest margin of defeat since a 49-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints in 2013.

San Francisco has recently got the best of Dallas, bouncing the Cowboys in the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.

Jones said he hasn't given consideration to having Brian Schottenheimer call plays and allowing head coach Mike McCarthy to move back to being a CEO figure. The team is in its first season with McCarthy calling plays on offense after the departure of former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

Dallas is averaging 327.4 yards per game and 26.8 points per contest ahead of its Week 6 matchup against Moore and the Los Angeles Chargers.
