The New York Jets won't have their top two cornerbacks in Week 6.

All-Pro corner Sauce Gardner won't face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday due to a concussion, the team announced.

The Jets, who had already ruled out cornerback D.J. Reed for the matchup, downgraded Gardner to out Saturday after originally listing him as questionable due to an illness.

Gardner has taken the NFL by storm since being drafted fourth overall in 2022. The Cincinnati product led the league with 20 pass breakups last season en route to being named Defensive Rookie of the Year. The 23-year-old has amassed 20 tackles, three pass breakups, and one forced fumble in five games in 2023 while allowing a 91.2 passer rating when targeted, according to Football Reference.

Bryce Hall and Michael Carter II will headline New York's cornerback depth chart against Philadelphia. The team also elevated corners Craig James and Tae Hayes from the practice squad on Saturday.

The Jets are coming off a victory over the Denver Broncos that moved the AFC East team to 2-3.

The 5-0 Eagles boast one of football's top wide receiver duos with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Philly ranks ninth in passing yards this season.
