Report: Titans' Tannehill opts to not have surgery, unlikely to play Week 8

Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill decided not to have surgery on his injured ankle, sources told Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Tannehill is in a cast as he deals with a high ankle sprain, sources told NFL Network. Tannehill has not been ruled out for the team's Week 8 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, but he's reportedly unlikely to be able to play.
The Titans are reportedly preparing for Malik Willis or Will Levis to start against Atlanta.
Tannehill's ankle injury is similar to the one he dealt with in the second half of the 2022 season. He had tightrope surgery to address the issue last December, which forced him to miss the final three contests of the campaign.
Willis has struggled filling in for Tannehill since being selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He has 234 passing yards with zero touchdown passes and three interceptions in three career starts.
The 24-year-old's poor track record could sway the team to start Levis, according to NFL Network. Levis was selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
