Colts' Pittman clears up comments about role: 'I was a little dramatic'

Michael Pittman Jr. admits he was being a tad dramatic when he questioned whether he was a big part of the Indianapolis Colts' offense following Sunday's 39-38 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

"Obviously it was a very frustrating loss the way that it happened," Pittman said, according to ESPN's Stephen Holder. "And I've never been a good loser. I'm actually a very poor sport. It's something that I've been working on my whole life, and it's just hard for me sometimes. And when you lose, sometimes you lose your composure, you lose your head. And I think I was a little dramatic when I said that."

Pittman was targeted only five times in the defeat. He caught two passes for 83 yards, with 75 of those yards coming on a touchdown.

"They just didn't target me today, for whatever reason. Maybe I'm not a big part of the offense," Pittman said postgame.

The 26-year-old chalked up his remarks to frustration and said they don't reflect how he really feels.

"Obviously, I am a big part of this offense," he said. "I lead the team in targets and stuff like that. So, it was out of frustration, and I just wanted to clear up that I love playing here, that I love Indy and everything that we do here, and I'm excited for this week coming up."

Pittman is on pace for his best season yet as he's averaging a career-high 69.9 yards per game. He's caught 42 balls for 489 yards and two touchdowns.
