Need Help Routing Network Camera Data Over Wi-Fi on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed
by DennisS from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6FWEW)
Hello Linux Enthusiasts,
I'm currently facing an issue with routing network camera data from a source computer to a target computer over a Wi-Fi connection. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or insights you can provide.
Here's the scenario:
Source Computer:
Running OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (latest version).
Equipped with two network interfaces:
eth0: Connected to a network camera with a Link Local (ZeroConf) IP of 192.254.145.235.
wlp0s20f0u5: Wi-Fi interface connected to an Access Point (AP) with an IP of 192.168.0.254.
Target Computer:
Equipped with two network interfaces:
eth1: Connected to the same AP as the source computer via Ethernet, with a Link Local (ZeroConf) IP of 169.254.99.116.
eth0: Connected to a different network (initially irrelevant).
Objective:
I want to route the network camera data directly from the source computer to the target computer over the Wi-Fi connection.
I have successfully achieved this using a bridge configuration for the wired connection. However, I'm struggling to set up the same routing for the Wi-Fi connection.
If anyone has experience or insights into configuring routing for such a scenario on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, I would greatly appreciate your help. I'm open to suggestions, whether it involves using specific tools, modifying configuration files, or any other solution that can get the data flowing over Wi-Fi.
I've researched extensively, but it seems that the Wi-Fi aspect of this setup poses a unique challenge. Your assistance would be invaluable in getting this setup to work seamlessly.
Thank you in advance for your help and expertise. I look forward to your suggestions and guidance.
