Slackware's espeak-ng has broken mbrola voices?
by Lockywolf from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6FXHH)
I think, something is wrong with Slackware's mbrola voices in espeak-ng.
I am running the following:
Code:/usr/bin/espeak -v mb/mb-us2 -s 120 -f /run/user/1000/agenda-snapshot.txt.truncatedThe contents of the file don't actually matter. There is an error message:
Code:mbrola: FATAL ERROR : cannot find file /usr/share/mbrola/voices/us2 !
mbrowrap error: mbrola closed stderr and did not exit
Error: Could not load the specified mbrola voice file.I have installed mbrola from sbo, and that file is not present in the mbrola package.
There _is_ a mbrola voice called us2, shipped by espeak-ng in usr/share/espeak-ng-data/voices/mb/mb-us2, but I don't know whether it is an "mbrola voice", or "an espeak voice calling mbrola".
In any case, eithe mbrola from SBo, or espeak-ng from Slackware are on the wrong.
Any suggestions?
