Senators' Chabot out 4-6 weeks with fractured hand
Ottawa Senators defenseman Thomas Chabot will miss four-to-six weeks with a fracture in his hand, head coach D.J. Smith said Friday, according to TSN 1200.
Chabot sustained the injury Thursday when he blocked a shot in the Sens' loss against the New York Islanders. An MRI revealed the fracture after X-rays at the arena came back negative.
Chabot said he blocked the shot early in the 2nd. Later they took x-rays at the rink but it didn't appear broken but he couldn't hold his stick. An MRI this morning showed the break. It is not displaced so surgery is not required.

Chabot leads the Senators in ice time with an average of 24:19 per game. The 26-year-old has three assists in seven games this season and registered 11 goals alongside 30 assists last year.
Ottawa is off to a 3-4 start in the 2023-24 campaign, and its six points are tied for the second-fewest in the Eastern Conference.
