microsoft sites (teams, office 365) in slackware's browsers firefox, chromium

Dear list,

recently I have been struggling to be able to log into Microsoft services such as
Teams, Office365 (yes, unfortunately, I have to). I access the services through
www browsers. While on Windows I can generally log in, the situation on my
slackware 15.0 is much worse, I am unable to log in in either firefox or chromium.
The sites most often just 'don't do anything'. [Funnily, on OpenBSD, chromium
(called chrome there) works, while firefox works only partially, eg, it shows
no chat messages in the Teams application; but, in general, on OpenBSD, I can
at least login in the services.]

If anybody has a clue as to what could be the problem with my slackware, I'd be
grateful. (I tried cleaning caches, running in 'private' windows, to no avail.)
Some people mentioned that the problem may be caused by some outdated (?)
ssl certificates, but I seem to be using the latest 'ca-certificates-20230721-noarch-1_slack15.0' available on slackware 15.0.

Thanks for any comments.

Ruda
