Storm named after a civil servant as Met Office warns of severe weather later this week
Storm Ciaran is likely to bring strong winds, heavy rain and the risk of flooding across southern England and Wales later in the week, the Met Office has said.
Forecasters announced the new storm name on Sunday morningfollowing the havoc wreaked in recent weeks by Storm Agnes and Storm Babet.
