Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner has been activated from injured reserve and will return for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, the team announced Saturday.

With quarterback Kyler Murray set for his season debut in Week 10, the Cardinals will have their starting backfield duo for the first time in 2023. Murray missed the first nine games of the campaign due to a torn ACL suffered in Week 13 of last season.

"(Conner) is our workhorse in the run game, and it will be good to get him back," coach Jonathan Gannon said. "It helps not only Kyler, it helps our team."

Conner has been out since sustaining a knee injury in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 8.

The running back was having another strong season before getting hurt, posting 364 yards and two touchdowns in five games.

Conner produced 1,534 rushing yards, 675 receiving yards, and 26 total scores over the last two seasons in Arizona.
