New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr did not finish Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Minnesota Vikings due to a right shoulder injury and a concussion.

Carr took a big hit from two Vikings defenders in the third quarter. He was carted to the locker room after briefly entering the medical tent.

The initial belief is that Carr avoided a major injury on his shoulder, though further testing will determine the severity, sources told Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.

Jameis Winston replaced Carr and almost immediately threw a touchdown to receiver Chris Olave, who made a toe-tap catch to bring in the score.

Carr completed 13 of 18 passes for 110 yards before exiting.

The veteran signal-caller entered Week 10 with 2,121 yards and 10 touchdowns against four interceptions.

Carr, in his first season with the Saints, suffered an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder in Week 3. He didn't finish the game but returned for Week 4.
