Proprietary Nvidia installation that is unconstrained from the running kernels versions?

Hi all,

This is a wishful thinking question.... but never know ;)
Just installed Kernel 6.1.62 and following that upgraded nvidia to 545.29.02.

As usual I had to remove the previous nvidia-driver version...
I think about the above every time this happens.
What if I'd have to roll back to the previous kernel, I'd have to rebuild 545.29.02.

But what if there was a way to build the proprietary nvidia components as some sort of plugins for any kernel version running and not have to rebuild every time.
Is this feasible?
