Hi, i'm a new linux user. I started yesterday with debian 12 but after i failed to install windowmaker i decided to go with windowmaker live which is debian 12 with windowmaker preinstalled

The problem is sound doesn't come through my monitor
It worked on win10 and debian12. I checked the input settings and it's set to hdmi.
The sound menu allows me to switch to "nvidia HDEi but it shows no channels.
The alsa mixer is constantly set to intel hde too
Switching to "Intel HDE" shows channels (more than i thought i've had) and removes the mute icon but no sound comes out of the headphone jack either
I checked alsamixer in the terminal and it shows nvidia hde as 4 spdif outputs. I unmuted them all and nothing happened
I ran aplay -l and it spat out:

ev2456 is my monitor

I also installed pavucontrol and it did nothing

Can someone help?
I heard pipewire is better, maybe i should switch to that? I don't know how tho...
