The Tennessee Titans organization "strongly and collectively believes" that Mike Vrabel is the team's long-term answer at head coach despite another disappointing season, high-ranking Titans officials told Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

The 3-7 Titans are likely to miss the playoffs for the second straight year. The AFC South club started 2022 with a 7-3 record before dropping seven consecutive games to end the season.

Tennessee produced four winning campaigns, three postseason appearances, and two division titles in Vrabel's first four seasons in charge. The organization hired Vrabel in 2018, and the 48-year-old won NFL Coach of the Year in 2021.

There's also been speculation that Vrabel would be a contender to take over for Bill Belichick should the New England Patriots, his former team, look to move on from the legendary coach.

Vrabel shrugged off speculation about his future Tuesday.

"I don't try to concern myself with that," he said. "I really am focused on these players. I hurt for them. I played 14 years, won some games, won some championships. I am frustrated for these players."

The Titans host the 1-9 Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
