Lilo bitmap on Slackware-15 menu items scrambled
by thethinker from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6GKYR)
Hey Slackers,
I've installed Slackware-15 (64 bit) onto a Virtual Box, and I'm getting some strange behavior from the Lilo bitmap (see screenshot). I can't actually see the menu to select the kernel I want to boot into. After the timeout (or hitting return), it does boot fine. I've tried playing with the lines
Code:bmp-table=60,6,1,15in lilo.conf, but that just moves the scrambled text to another place - it's clearly the selection menu that's the problem. I can turn off the bitmap with
Code:message=/boot/boot_message.txtbut I'd like to work out what is going on. Since this is a VM, it's possible something there but I have tried starting it with many of the various video options available - including the amount of video memory available (current 64 mb).
Any thoughts about how to fix this?
