Titans' Vrabel says Henry not in concussion protocol despite report

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said running back Derrick Henry is not in the concussion protocol despite a report indicating he is, according to ESPN's Turron Davenport.

"We checked on him last night, then checked on him in the morning," Vrabel said Monday afternoon.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Monday morning that the Titans' star running back is in the protocol and his status for the team's Week 14 Monday night game against the Miami Dolphins is up in the air.

Henry left Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a head injury and didn't return.

The 29-year-old had a monster day before leaving the contest, totaling 120 yards on 22 touches. Rookie running back Tyjae Spears shouldered the load in Henry's absence, racking up 75 yards on 16 carries.

Despite losing in overtime Sunday, Tennessee's offense busted out of a slump by totaling more than 300 yards in a game for the first time since Week 9 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Titans hold a 4-8 record and are three games behind third place in the AFC South.

Henry's in the final year of a four-year, $50-million deal signed in 2020. He has 841 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in 12 games this season.
