New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley isn't giving up on the 2023 season.

"We're in this motherf----r, to be honest," Barkley said, according to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post.

"I'm going to keep it real. We're not looking too far, or in the hunt, or at playoff pictures. But if we take care of what we need to take care of, everyone can say what they want about the season. It's Week (14), and everything we want is still there. We don't need any extra motivation."

The 4-8 Giants have less than a 1% chance of making the postseason, according to The New York Times. The team ripped off back-to-back victories against the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots heading into its Week 13 bye.

Quarterback Tommy DeVito enjoyed a resurgence during New York's two-game win streak. He's thrown for 437 yards with four touchdowns and just one turnover this season after a shaky start.

DeVito will start Monday night against the Green Bay Packers despite quarterback Tyrod Taylor returning to practice after missing the last four contests due to a rib injury.

"No more excuses," Barkley said, per Dunleavy. "Tommy DeVito is not a rookie quarterback anymore, going into his fourth start. Injuries, we've got guys getting healthier."

The Giants have five games remaining against opponents with a combined 37-23 record, including two contests versus the Philadelphia Eagles, who own the league's best record.
