Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will start Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns despite suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 13, the team announced.

Lawrence sustained the ailment in the fourth quarter of the Jaguars' loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday. The injury typically sidelines players for multiple weeks. The 2021 first overall pick hasn't missed a game due to injury in his NFL career.

Head coach Doug Pederson said Friday that the franchise quarterback would probably be a game-time decision.

The 24-year-old passer will extend his starting streak to 47 games. Lawrence was listed as questionable on the team's final injury report after being a limited participant in Thursday's and Friday's practice sessions.

Lawrence also played through a knee injury earlier in the season.

C.J. Beathard - who stepped in during the overtime defeat to the Bengals - will back up Lawrence. Nathan Rourke was also signed to the active roster from the practice squad to provide insurance under center.

The Jaguars have posted an 8-4 record with Lawrence as their starter. Lawrence has thrown for 3,004 yards, 14 touchdowns, and seven interceptions and has a 94.4 passer rating through 12 games.
