Dolphins' Hill day-to-day, starting C Williams out for season with torn ACL

Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel provided significant injury updates Tuesday following the team's 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

McDaniel said star wide receiver Tyreek Hill will be day-to-day due to an ankle ailment, according to Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. The All-Pro pass-catcher suffered the injury in the first quarter of the Titans matchup but was able to return.

He played 47% of Miami's offensive snaps Monday and said postgame that the ankle issue affected his mobility. Hill added that he was encouraged to return to the game after texting his wife at halftime, per Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith.

While Hill's injury isn't major, the Dolphins will have to move forward without their starting center, as Connor Williams will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn ACL against Tennessee, McDaniel announced.

Williams, who missed four games earlier this campaign due to injury, has started 26 contests for Miami since joining the team in 2022. His contract expires at the end of the 2023 season. Liam Eichenberg will presumably replace him this year.

Multiple Dolphins offensive linemen are dealing with injuries. Offensive tackle Terron Armstead didn't face the Titans due to knee and ankle ailments, while guard Robert Hunt has a hamstring injury.

McDaniel said Tuesday that it's "more conceivable" that Armstead plays in Week 15 versus the New York Jets than Hunt, who's considered "week-to-week," according to Adam Beasley of Pro Football Network.

Tennessee sacked Tua Tagovailoa five times in Week 14, a season high for the Miami quarterback.

The 9-4 Dolphins currently have a two-game lead for first place in the AFC East over the 7-6 Buffalo Bills.
