Raiders' Adams laments 'embarrassing' loss to Vikings

Las Vegas Raiders star wideout Davante Adams shared his frustration following the team's historic 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last weekend.

"You want to be a part of history, but never that type," Adams said Tuesday.

"I mean, it's embarrassing, too," he added. "Not that that's the main thing that drives it, but you walk off that field and you've got a lot of fans that pay their money to come to see you play, and you go up and put up a goose egg. It almost looked worse that they only scored three, too."

Adams didn't speak to reporters postgame after hauling in seven receptions for 53 yards.

The Raiders struggled to get anything rolling offensively in what was the lowest-scoring game in 16 years. Las Vegas was held to just 201 total yards, converted just 3 of 14 third-down conversions, and turned the ball over three times.

Minnesota's Greg Joseph recorded the game's only points, kicking a 36-yard field goal with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

Adams hasn't provided the same impact he did a year ago when he finished with 100 receptions, 1,516 yards, and a league-leading 14 touchdowns. With four games remaining, the six-time Pro Bowl receiver is on pace for his second-lowest yards-per-catch average (11.4) in a season, and his four scores would be his third fewest.

Adams has moved past the Week 14 defeat and believes the Raiders, currently mired in a three-game skid, will have plenty of motivation down the final stretch of the regular season.

"We're playing for pride, for our name on the back, the front, and all that. So, there's lots still to play for," Adams said.

The Raiders (5-8) don't have much time to dwell on their recent struggles ahead of their home game against the Los Angeles Chargers (5-8) on Thursday Night Football.
