Raiders' Jacobs won't play TNF vs. Chargers due to quad injury

Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs was ruled inactive ahead of Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers due to a quad injury.

Jacobs didn't practice this week.

The All-Pro tailback, who leads the NFL with 233 rushing attempts this season, went down in the fourth quarter of last week's 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings with what the Raiders originally called a knee injury. He was listed as questionable but didn't return to the game.

Jacobs has rushed for 805 yards (3.5 per carry) and six touchdowns in 13 appearances this season. No other Raider has more than 65 yards on the ground. The 25-year-old posted a league-leading 1,653 rushing yards in 2022.

With Jacobs sidelined, Zamir White and Ameer Abdullah headline the Raiders' running back depth chart. White and Abdullah have 20 and six carries this season, respectively.

Injuries are also a concern for the Chargers, as quarterback Justin Herbert (finger) and wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) won't play. Herbert has already been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery.

The Chargers and Raiders are both 5-8.
