Cannot log in after playing with "sudo dpkg-reconfigure ldap-auth-config"

As a newbie, I wish to learn how to configure LDAP client by copying configurations from another working LDAP client. From somewhere I heard a command "sudo dpkg-reconfigure ldap-auth-config", so I started to play with it on the working machine. At a later prompt of the pink window, I vaguely remember that the prompt is related to password, and the message said something related to previous password if I leave the input empty. I don't know what password thing is about so I just pressed return to leave the input blank. Then, when I tried to log back into the working machine using ssh, I cannot log in no matter what password I tried. The system is using NFS + LDAP, so I'm guessing the empty input in the command "sudo dpkg-reconfigure ldap-auth-config" changed the password used to query LDAP server to get my user name and password, and so such a query fails and thus the LDAP client machine cannot retrieve correct username and password of mine to let me in. Is there any chance to restore the settings of the LDAP client machine that used to work before? The machine is a remote server, and since I cannot log in so nothing I can do about it.
The OS: Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS server, I connect to it (previously) using MobaXterm.
