Eagles pull Hurts, other starters in big loss to Giants
The Philadelphia Eagles waved the white flag in Week 18.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts, center Jason Kelce, and right tackle Lane Johnson were among the key starters taken out by the Eagles just before halftime of Sunday's 27-10 loss to the New York Giants, who were leading 24-0 at the time.
With the defeat, Philadelphia locked itself into a wild-card spot. The Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Commanders to win the NFC East.
Wide receiver A.J. Brown exited after suffering a knee injury and didn't return. Guard Cam Jurgens (eye) and safeties Sydney Brown (knee) and Reed Blankenship (groin) were ruled out as well.
Marcus Mariota came in for Hurts - who appeared to suffer a finger injury on his throwing hand earlier in the game but was able to return - and immediately threw an interception.
Hurts seemed to sustain the injury after his hand collided with the hand of a Giants defender on a pass attempt.

Brown was hurt on a first-quarter fumble, which the Giants recovered.
The star pass-catcher clutched his right knee and appeared to be in pain while on the ground. He walked off under his own power before heading to the locker room.
