'I'll always be a Patriot': Belichick leaves New England after 24 seasons – video

Bill Belichick, who led the New England Patriots to a record six Super Bowl titles, has left the team after 24 seasons. 'He is the greatest coach of all time, which makes this decision to part ways so hard. This is a move that we mutually agreed that is needed at this time. What Bill accomplished, in my opinion, will never be duplicated,' said Patriots owner Robert Kraft at a press conference on Thursday. Speculation had been swirling for some time about Belichick's future after the Patriots slumped to a 4-13 record in 2023, their worst season during his time with the team. ESPN reports that conversations between Belichick and Kraft about the coach's future took place this week and were cordial. They concluded with Belichick and the team making a mutual parting of ways.
