[SOLVED] Sound in an HP laptop not working with an AMD 5500U processor

Just an FYI.
Yesterday I received an HP 15.6 FHD Laptop with a AMD Ryzen 5-5500U processor by UPS from Walmart. Has 32GB RAM, 2 TB SSD, and AMD Radeon Graphics. Of course, I immediately wiped Windows 11 off of it and installed KUbuntu 22.04 LTS. Install went fine, everything worked except no sound. The system couldn't find the sound device it turned out. I installed 22.10 as I had it on hand and ... no sound card found. Went to web and did some searching but none of the suggestions worked. Finally I downloaded KUbuntu 23.10 and voila, the system found the sound device and sound is now working and everything else was still working!!! Wahoo.
I wanted to pass this along to anyone else that may have sound problems with an AMD laptop.
Since this laptop is a gift to my dad, I kind of wanted an LTS version installed... but oh well. Not to long until the next KUbuntu LTS comes along! Not a big deal. His current laptop is a 2014 Dell running 22.04 LTS. A bit long in the tooth. This new one is much snappier.
