Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott showed support for head coach Mike McCarthy following Sunday's 48-32 wild-card home loss to the Green Bay Packers.

"He's been amazing," Prescott said of McCarthy postgame, according to Joseph Hoyt of LoneStarLive.com. "I don't know how there could be (speculation about McCarthy's future). I understand the business, and in that case, there should be (speculation) about me as well.

"I've had the season I've had because of that guy. This team has had the success it has had because of him. I understand it's about winning the Super Bowl. That's the standard of the league and that's damn sure the standard of this place."

The Packers controlled Sunday's matchup from start to finish and scored the contest's first 27 points. Green Bay also had a 48-16 fourth-quarter lead before Dallas scored two touchdowns with the game already out of hand.

Prescott completed 41 of 60 pass attempts for 403 yards and three touchdowns against two interceptions, including a 64-yard pick-6. He was outplayed by Jordan Love, who was 16-for-21 passing with 272 yards and three TDs in his first playoff start.

"I sucked tonight," said Prescott, who added that he's "shocked" after his team's latest elimination, according to ESPN's Todd Archer.

A second-team All-Pro in 2023, Prescott was an MVP contender during the regular season after leading the NFL with 36 TD passes. The 30-year-old threw only nine interceptions and had just one multi-INT game while helping Dallas post an 8-0 home record.

"I think like anything you're always trying to get your quarterback into a rhythm. It took a little longer than I would've liked," McCarthy said of Prescott's performance, according to ESPN's Ed Werder.

Prescott has posted a 73-41 regular-season record since joining the Cowboys as a fourth-round pick in 2016. However, he's only 2-5 in the playoffs. Dallas has been a one-and-done in the postseason eight times since 1996.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he's "floored" by the loss, adding that it was possibly "the most painful" playoff defeat his team has suffered. Jones declined to comment on McCarthy's future.
