The Baltimore Ravens aren't expected to activate tight end Mark Andrews from injured reserve ahead of their divisional playoff matchup against the Houston Texans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

There's optimism that Andrews, who's been sidelined with an ankle injury, could be available if the Ravens advance to the AFC Championship Game next weekend, Rapoport adds.

Andrews was upgraded to a full participant in both Wednesday's and Thursday's practice sessions after being limited to begin the week. The Ravens opened the 21-day window to activate him off injured reserve on Jan. 12.

The former All-Pro missed the final six games of the regular season after being placed on the reserve list with an ankle injury and was listed as questionable for Saturday's matchup. Andrews tallied 45 receptions for 544 yards and six touchdowns before getting hurt.

Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson dragged Andrews to the ground with a controversial hip-drop tackle during a Nov. 16 meeting, which sidelined the tight end for the rest of the regular season.

Andrews will let others decide if the hip-drop tackle should be banned going forward but doesn't believe the Bengals defender had malicious intent.

"I don't blame the guy. He was just playing hard," Andrews said, according to team reporters Clifton Brown and Ryan Mink.

Baltimore will likely lean on Isaiah Likely with Andrews sidelined. The Coastal Carolina product has impressed with 30 catches for 411 yards and five touchdowns in eight regular-season starts. Charlie Kolar is also in line to see more snaps.

The Ravens have already ruled out cornerback Marlon Humphrey as he deals with a calf ailment.
