Can't resume from suspend
by rootaccess from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6J5G4)
Ive got slackware 15.0 installed with XFCE 4.12. i basically am using tales repo here instead of GTK-3.0. i don't think that is the issue but i am wondering if maybe it is. on my desktop, resume varies whether i use 'loginctl suspend' or use the menu to suspend, sometimes my monitor comes back and sometimes its locked with a prompt but nothing on the screen and no way to get out of it. sometimes it never even turns back on, 1/10 times does it actually succeed. i can't deal with having this happen. i don't want to have to shut down my computer every night just because of this. can someone please point out where this issue might be coming from?
i feel like this is the only problem i have been dealing with. i also am not going to reinstall this slackware because that would defeat the purpose of me using it because the whole point of me using it is that i can transfer my system from/to anywhere and i am not willing to spend 4 hours getting my environment set up as a result of a vanilla reinstall because i have a lot i do on the machine. and so far that has worked great. had other issues on laptops brightness but that was resolved.
thanks for any input.
