Lions' Goff: 'Pretty cool' to hear name chanted at Red Wings game
Detroit has been showing its love to Jared Goff ahead of the Lions' NFC championship matchup against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, and the feeling is mutual.
Goff heaped praise upon the city Friday when asked about hearing his name chanted during the Detroit Red Wings' 3-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers the night before.
"It was pretty cool," the quarterback said, according to Jared Ramsey of the Detroit Free Press. "(It's) pretty fun to be a part of a city that cares so much."

Goff added that the support he's received from fans in Detroit is unlike anything he experienced during his playoff runs with the Los Angeles Rams.
"This is a little different. Obviously, the circumstances of it all feeds into that, but these fans are unbelievable," he said.
The Lions defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-23 in the divisional round to advance to the NFC Championship Game for the first time since 1992. A win over the 49ers would secure Detroit's first-ever trip to the Super Bowl.
