Ravens' Madubuike on free agency: Baltimore's home but 'business is business'
Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Justin Madubuike is unsure of his future with the club heading into free agency.
"In terms of Baltimore, man, that's home," Madubuike said at the Pro Bowl, according to Grant Gordon of NFL Network. "But, you know, business is business, and that side is going to take care of itself."
The Ravens selected Madubuike in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent when the new league year opens in March.
Madubuike had his best season as a pro in 2023, recording 57 tackles with 13.5 sacks and 33 quarterback hits. His 13.5 sacks ranked first among all defensive tackles and ninth out of all defensive players in the league. His tremendous season secured him Pro Bowl and Second-Team All-Pro honors.
"Put up some great numbers, made my first Pro Bowl, All-Pro, and just very, very thankful," Madunuike said.
He added: "I'm excited for the future, I feel like this (Pro Bowl) isn't the last one I'm going to be in."
Baltimore currently has $7.3 million in cap space, according to Over The Cap. The franchise has many starters set to hit free agency on the defensive side of the ball, including Patrick Queen, Jadeveon Clowney, Arthur Maulet, Geno Stone, and Madubuike.
The Texas A&M product has 153 tackles and 21.5 sacks in 59 career games.
