The Las Vegas Raiders are working to hire Luke Getsy to fill their offensive coordinator vacancy, sources told Albert Breer of The MMQB.

Getsy spent the last two seasons engineering the Chicago Bears' offense. He worked with Aaron Rodgers as the Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach before that, and helped the future Hall of Famer win back-to-back NFL MVP awards in 2020 and 2021.

The Raiders pivoted to Getsy after failing to finalize a deal with Kliff Kingsbury. Las Vegas was reportedly on the cusp of landing Kingsbury before contract negotiations broke down.

Kingsbury, who served as an analyst for USC in 2023, is rumored to be a prime candidate to become Dan Quinn's offensive coordinator on the Washington Commanders. Kingsbury was the Arizona Cardinals' head coach from 2019-22, and helped develop a slew of NCAA quarterbacks - including Patrick Mahomes - in the college ranks before landing his first NFL job.

The Raiders' offense ranked 23rd in points and 27th in yards this season. They finished the campaign with rookie Aidan O'Connell at quarterback, and must decide whether to move forward with him as their starter. Las Vegas also has a pending free agent in star running back Josh Jacobs, and a slew of question marks along the offensive line.

The Raiders named Antonio Pierce their permanent head coach in January after going 5-4 with him as the interim boss to finish the 2023 season.
