Hello,

I have been converting windows users to Linux for some and now and have not yet noticed this unique feature of Linux.

Is the multi-line text highlight mode on single-line textboxes a changeable configuration behavior in Linux?
Because on windows it seems to differentiate between 'single-line' and 'multi-line' when highlighting text.

This behavior was tested on Linux (Ubuntu, Debian) and both seem to use multi-line highlight mode for all textboxes system wide irreverent of application.

[Replication]
open an internet browser.
with text in the URL textbox, click and hold the left button then move the mouse in a wide circle around the start position.

the expected behavior would be single-line text highlight mode not multi-line.

[Definition of Terms]
Single-line highlight mode: a click and drag to the left or right of the start position will highlight text to the left or right, mouse Y movement is irreverent.
Multi-line highlight mode: a click and drag to the left and up of start position will highlight text to the left and up, right and down highlights text to the right and down.
