Trouble using mkfs -t

Hello guys :)

I'm trying to make a filesystem using mkfs (as in 'How linux works' section 4.2.2):
But when I run the command I get foll. output:

youri@desktop-van-yourimiessen:~$ mkfs -t ext4 /dev/sdf2
mke2fs 1.45.5 (07-Jan-2020)
The file /dev/sdf2 does not exist and no size was specified.

Any idea of what I'm doing wrong?
It says that the file does not exist which seems logical since I'm trying to create it...

FYI: after this I will try to mount the fs somewhere in my directory.

Cheers!
