I Finally Fixed Something Myself!
by kevinbenko from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6JRQS)
I had a stroke in 2011, and am brain-damaged, and I often ask for help in this wonderful forum.
I was having sound issues because I added a package, that uninstalled a {butt}load of other packages. And the sound stopped working.
I then purged every sound package, then I installed both ALSA and PULSE packages..... didn't work; still no sound, so I purged every sound package again.
Then I got a bit wise, and just installed the bare minimum sound packages. And I have sound again.
{sigh}
I guess what happened was that some of these packages were conflicting with each other.
WINNING!
Have yourself a fantastic day!
