Need a Quick Meta-Suggestion on How to Open Linux in Virtual Machine (First time user of both)
by JamesMadisonAndMonroe from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6JT53)
Helloo, so, I had a bad experience with Linux in January 2023. I downloaded Linux Mint Cinnamon, and in a week, I was locked out in Grub, which makes me want to baby-step my way to Linux further by doing it on a Virtual Machine first before really beginning to transition from Windows.
THE META-QUESTION HERE: how to search linuxquestions itself, because I know this has to be a dupe-licate question (I can probably search on google "linuxquestions" and then a few keywords from this entry.... I just really wanted to post to clear that friendly notifier that I haven't posted).
PLEASE SKIP IF YOU ARE NOT A STRANGE GEN-Z'ER LIKE MYSELF: for instance, I am playing Runescape right now, and I really, really, really want to boot for the first time, and spend all those pain-staking hours it is going to take to really get acquainted with Linux... really the whole sha-bang (I follow Mental Outlaw, and am interested in all things that add proactive skills to users, and - God willing - become a superuser. Doing this whole process while "skilling" and "money-making" in this video game is ridiculously silly, but it is also crucial for my sanity.
Maybe the Virtual Machine I should use is Oracle. I already use Yahoo, and that has had 12 meta-breaches (no pastes - according to did i get pwned, or whatever, dot com). Qubes... yeah I would need to boot to Linux first.
*meta-add: I will probably add a USB to my keychain. I do want to at least dabble in Tails OS, and so on.
"I am tired of hearing about taking responsibility and reading the websites of these incredible internet resources and am ready to start doing it."
