apcupsd communications lost
by mfoley from LinuxQuestions.org on (#6JW62)
I have an APC UPS connected to one computer: WEBSERVER, with apcupsd.conf settings UPSTYPE usb and NETSERVER on.
Another computer, FILESERVER with apcupsd.config settings UPSTYPE net, DEVICE webserver:3551, POLLTIME 40
For some year I've run this FILESERVER computer with POLLTIME 10 without problem. However, for the past couple of months I've been getting messages from that computer saying "Communications with UPS WEBSERVER lost". I've been moving the POLLTIME gradually up until it's now at 40, but I still keep getting these messages.
These messages are always immediately followed by "Communications with UPS WEBSERVER restored" within the same minute and typically within 5 to 30 seconds of the "lost" message, so nothing bad really happened.
Is there a setting to not send the apparently bogus messages? We don't have an actual power outage so ONBATTERYDELAY doesn't seem appropriate.
