thunderbird 115 & alsa

Hello,
Does someone have thunderbird sound notifications working on ALSA without pulseaudio or pipewire running ?
Here on an up-to-date slackware 15.0, it doesn't seem to work, neither with default system sound or chosen sound file.
Pulseaudio and pipewire are installed but not enabled.
Sound works fine with firefox.
